Back-to-School Feelings: A Guide for Kids and Parents

Feeling excited, nervous, or worried about school starting? These mixed emotions are completely normal for both kids and parents!

For Kids: Talk about your feelings with someone you trust. Take deep breaths when worried. Remember three good things about school. You’ve handled new situations before – you can do this again!

For Parents: Listen to your child’s concerns without immediately fixing them. Share your own childhood stories. Create comforting routines and special traditions. Take care of yourself too.

Together: Start adjusting bedtime routines early. Practice morning schedules. Visit the school if possible. Remember, change takes 2-4 weeks, and these big feelings will pass. You’ve got this!
